Office to PDF (Word / Excel / CSV)
Send someone a Word file and the fonts swap, the layout shifts, and it looks nothing like what you saved — turning it into a PDF is the simple fix. compress cat converts Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and CSV to PDF locally in your browser, with nothing uploaded. Straight talk, though: the in-browser conversion is low-fidelity. Text and tables reflow, and margins, pagination, fonts and chart styling won’t always match Office exactly. For a pixel-perfect, sign-off-ready document, a desktop tool is the safer bet — and .pptx isn’t supported yet.

Supports Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and CSV to PDF. In-browser output is low-fidelity (text/table reflow, not pixel-perfect); use a pro tool for .pptx etc. Runs locally, no upload.

Why use compress cat's Office to PDF?
- Word, Excel and CSV all go in the same door, which covers most everyday conversions without hunting down a separate tool for each format.
- It runs on your own machine, so a contract or quote you’d rather not email around never touches a server.
- No watermark, no usage cap — your tenth file comes out as clean as your first.
Frequently asked questions
Not guaranteed. You’ll get a readable, printable PDF, but margins, pagination, fonts and chart styling can come out a little different from Office. If it’s going to a client or needs an exact layout, convert it with a desktop tool instead.
Not yet. Right now it handles Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and CSV. PowerPoint layouts are too involved for the in-browser engine, so use a dedicated tool for those.
Only the first sheet is converted right now. If your workbook has several sheets, the others won’t be in the PDF — save the sheet you need as its own file first, or split the workbook and convert each.
