Rotate a PDF to the right orientation
That document that scanned in sideways and makes you tilt your head every page — rotating fixes it by turning every page back upright before you save. compress cat spins the whole PDF 90°, 180° or 270° right inside your browser; the file never touches a server.

How to rotate pdf
- 1Select a single PDF file.
- 2Choose a rotation: 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise.
- 3Click “Rotate & download” to save the result.
Why use compress cat's Rotate PDF?
- It rewrites the rotation flag, not the pixels. Text stays vector, images stay original — the file is byte-for-byte the same quality after the turn, so there’s no “rotate it and lose a little” tax.
- One angle covers the entire document. A whole stack fed through a scanner usually tilts the same way, so you set the rotation once instead of clicking page by page.
- All three turns are there: 90° clockwise, 180°, 90° counter-clockwise — enough to rescue landscape, portrait or fully upside-down scans.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The rotation is baked into the PDF itself, not a temporary preview — Adobe, browsers and phones all open it the right way up.
Not yet — this tool turns the whole document at once. Per-page rotation is on the roadmap. If you only need a few specific pages, pull them out first with our Delete Pages or Split tool.
